Loretta Batts Jackson, 76, of the 100 block of Balview Ave., a former beautician, died Jan. 7, 1995, in Maryview Hospital.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Norfolk County and was the widow of Peter M. Batts Sr. and Adolphus P. Jackson. She was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, Norfolk, and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Veronica Jackson of Norfolk; a son, Father Peter M. Batts, O.P., of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Hattie Green of Portsmouth and Verona Thomas and Florence Hall, both of Chesapeake; nieces, nephews and god-children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Thursday in the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception by Father Peter M. Batts, O.P., and other priests. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Viewing will begin at noon Wednesday in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday for the funeral service.
