JACK E. VANCE

Jack E. Vance, 60, died Monday, Jan. 9, 1995.

He was a Peninsula resident for 34 years. Mr. Vance retired from Newport News Shipyard as an industrial engineer assigned to the Electrical Department in 1993 after 33 years of service. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Gloucester. He attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Crittenden. He was a member of Woodmen of the World.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Vance; two sons, Forrest Alan Vance of Smithfield and Kelly E. Vance of Newport News; four sisters, Dolly Reib, Jean Wilson, Yvonne Wilson and Barbara Bryan; four brothers, Dewey Vance, Tommy Vance, Bill Vance and Sam Vance; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, Newport News. A funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home by the Rev. Carl LeMon and the Rev. Sam Vance. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1589 Steeple Drive, Suffolk, Va. 23433.
