Harry N. Mitchell, 76, of the 4000 block of Cedar Grove Crescent, a retired mechanic, died Jan. 8, 1995, in Manning Convalescent Home, Portsmouth.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Portsmouth and was retired from Newport News Shipbuilding. He was a member, a deacon, and a member of the Official Board of Bethel Baptist Church in Norfolk. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel L. Mitchell; a daughter, Vilma L. Massey of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Roland Epperson; nephew, Robert Mitchell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bethel Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Jesse E. Arrington Jr. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, with military honors. Viewing will begin at noon Wednesday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.
