Dorothy Chapman Leverette, 83, of Chesapeake died Sunday at her residence.
Mrs. Leverette was born in Savannah, Ga., and was the daughter of the late Virgil S. and Caroline Kammer Chapman. She was the widow of Julian O. Leverette. Mrs. Leverette was a member of Great Bridge Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Gail Connolly of Chesapeake; two granddaughters, Anne Taylor of Amherst, Va., and Caroline Steele of Chesapeake; and four great-grandchildren, Emily Anne Taylor, Virginia Grace Taylor, Kimberly Chapman Steele, and Christopher Michael Steele.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Ga., by the Rev. Conrad Crow. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, today from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society.
