RUBY G. MEIGGS

Ruby Guynn Meiggs, 87, of the 300 block of Cedar Road, died Tuesday in a Chesapeake nursing home.

Mrs. Meiggs was born in old Norfolk County and was the daughter of the late W.R. and Bertie Whitehurst Guynn and the widow of Willard Carr Meiggs Sr. She had been a clerk with the Seaboard Railroad. She was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two sons, W.C. Meiggs Jr. and Thomas G. Meiggs, both of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Meika Ingram Meiggs, W.C. ``Billy'' Meiggs III and Jon Paul Meiggs; and three great-grandchildren, David Samuel Meiggs, Jami Meiggs and Megan Meiggs.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home by the Rev. Ted Bashford. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
