The crimes listed here were reported to the Suffolk Police Department. Because they are initial reports, they are allegations only and may or may not have resulted in criminal charges.
DISTRICT A
Strong-arm robbery, 3600 block Pruden Boulevard; suspect, about 6 feet, 240 pounds, wearing a green Army jacket with a blue or black full-face hood, entered the front door when victim opened the front door and struck him in the forehead. Suspect then removed a green Army ammo can from a counter top that contained a red First Virginia Bank zipper bag with about $340 in currency and $60 in change inside.
Grand larceny, 4400 block Foxwood Place, someone removed the heating and cooling unit from a new residence under construction. Unit is gas operated; estimated damage is $4,500.
Grand larceny, 5600 block Shoulders Hill Road, between Dec. 31 and Jan. 2, someone removed about 1,500 pounds of scrap lead from the premises.
Petty larceny, 3200 block Bridge Road, person driving a beige vehicle with Virginia license plates drove away from the store without paying for $7.68 worth of gas.
Grand larceny, 2800 block Windjammer Road, person removed several items of jewelry from residence including one 14k gold wedding ring with 0.95 carat diamond, one bar pin with a diamond in the middle and two blue sapphires on each end, four 14k and 18k yellow wedding bands and one antique dinner ring with three diamonds. Items appraised at $7,700.
Grand larceny, 6400 Old Bullock's Circle, someone removed two windows valued at $62.50 each and two windows valued at $51.50 each from construction site.
DISTRICT B
Petty larceny, 3200 block Motoaka Road, someone removed one black Motorola pager from residence.
Grand larceny, 200 block Abingdon Circle, someone removed one Pioneer AM/FM cassette radio, one Punch 45 amplifer, one Linear power amplifier and one wooden, unpainted speaker box from a 1991 bronze-colored Honda Civic.
Grand larceny, 100 block Toddsbury Court, someone broke into a red, 1990 Ford Escort by breaking out right-side passenger door glass. A lady's black leather wallet containing important documents valued at $320, a Century child seat valued at $60 and one Sony detachable-face AM/FM/CD stereo valued at $35 were taken.
DISTRICT C
Breaking and entering (business), 1200 block Holland Road, someone entered business and removed a Zenith keyboard, Zenith computer and a Zenith color monitor.
Motor vehicle theft, 1400 block North Main Street, someone removed a gray, '87 Plymouth Duster hatchback while it was parked in front of a store.
Breaking and entering (school), 200 block Clay Street, someone entered school by breaking out a second-floor window, entered the kitchen and fled when the alarm was activated. Nothing was removed.
Lost or stolen, 400 block West Constance Road, a Motorola cellular telephone from rear of vehicle while it was parked.
Larceny of a firearm, 400 block St. James Avenue, a Bersa .380 caliber, stainless steel handgun was removed from couple's bedroom.
DISTRICT D
Grand larceny (auto), 100 block Dover Court, a 1988 dark blue Buick Park Avenue, four-door, was broken into through the passenger side rear window and removed.
Attempted breaking and entering (house), 100 block Nancy Drive, someone attempted to gain entry through a window.
Breaking and entering (house), 100 street South 6th Street, residence was entered through the back door. One gray Samsung microwave, new and in box, was removed.
Breaking and entering (house), 300 block Central Avenue, front door was pryed open and a Sega Genesis, 13'' color TV, VCR, four men's gold rings, one gold necklace, three woman's sterling gold rings, four women's gold rings and four sets of Oyster hair clippers were removed. Total value about $1,290.
Grand larceny, 100 block Pinner Street, suspect moved out of home and removed 70 cassette tapes, cassette case, three Nintendo games, two air conditioner units and one scroll saw.
Grand larceny, auto (attempted), 300 block South Main Street, a gold-colored 1986 Chevrolet, four-door sedan was entered and someone tried to start it. Suspect also broke plastic on the dash panel and damaged the radio.
Unathorized use of motor vehicle, 100 block Cullodan Street, someone allowed a person to borrow vehicle under condition that it be returned at a certain time. The vehicle was not returned.
Vandalism, 400 block Carolina Road, someone threw rocks at windows, breaking glass.
Petty larceny, 100 block Dill Road, two city stickers were removed from two 1983 Mack trucks.
Grand larceny, 400 block Spruce Street, someone removed five closet doors, six 32'' doors, seven sheets of paneling and 32 feet of 4'' molding.
DISTRICT E
Breaking and entering (house), 1800 Holland Road, suspect kicked in front door and physically assaulted victim in an attempt to reach and assault another person.
Petty larceny, 200 block Kenyon Road, someone removed a Tandy cellular phone and a pair of tan gloves from a parked vehicle.
Petty larceny, 3100 block Whaleyville Boulevard, suspect removed one Virginia State inspection sticker from 1981 Ford Explorer and one Makita cordless driver drill. ILLUSTRATION: CRIME LINE
Suffolk police need your help in solving a Christmas Eve
shooting.
About 11:30 that night, 24-year-old Suffolk resident Francis
White was walking with a friend in the 600 block of Cedar Street
Extended. A car pulled up with four or five black males in it and
stopped near the victim and his friend. One of the occupants got out
of the car and fired several shots toward the victim. Two of the
bullets struck White in the abdomen.
A beige Oldsmobile, Virginia license ZYT-9635, reportedly stolen
from Norfolk, was recovered a short distance from where the shooting
occurred. This car was identified as the one the suspects were in.
