Financial World magazine ranked Norfolk Southern Corp. as the nation's 99th-most-valuable company with a market value of $8.2 billion. The magazine's ranking is based on Norfolk Southern's stock value of $60 5/8 per share as of Dec. 30. In its Jan. 31 edition, the magazine projected that the Norfolk-based railroad and trucking holding company would see its shares rise in value by 23 percent to nearly $75 a share.
