James J. Farrar, 76, of the 1000 block of Bells Road, died Jan. 11, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Farrar, a native of Farmville, Va., was a member of Scott Memorial United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach. He was a member of the Bow Creek Golf Association. He had retired from Virginia Power after 31 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Martha C. Farrar; two sons, Phillip J. Farrar and Edward J. Farrar; two sisters, Susie Farrar and Catherine Farrar; and two grandchildren, Andrea C. Hill and Tommy J. Farrar, all of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Isaiah Clem Cemetery in Fort Valley, Va., by the Rev. Edward T. Wright. The family will receive friends in the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
