Bertram A. Jackson, born June 19, 1914, died Jan. 12, 1995.
He had served as a Seaman Merchant Marine for 35 years. He had a love for music, especially blues and jazz. He was actively involved in the Shriners and Masons in Norfolk and Louisiana.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Delores; one daughter, Cathi Barnes and family Chuck Sr., Chuck Jr., and Cassee; and his beloved pet Oscar.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Warren Chapman. The family is granting his last wish of no flowers, and private donations of sympathy may be made to Delores to fulfill a few of his last requests.
