Milton Alphonso Reid, of the 900 block of Denhart St., died Jan. 11, 1995, in Houston, Tex.
He was a native of Norfolk and had been retired after working for First Virginia Bank of Tidewater for 12 years and the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital for 35 years. He was a member of St. John's A.M.E. Church in Norfolk.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Reid of Houston, Tex.; two daughters, Terrie Reid Payne of Houston, Tex., and Phyllis Perkins of Arkansas; one son, Milton A. Reid Jr. of Newport News; six grandchildren; five nieces, three nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John's A.M.E. Church, 545 E. Bute St., Norfolk, by Dr. I.W. Knight. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday. Family and friends will assemble at 905 Ellington Square, Portsmouth, on Saturday at 1 p.m. for processional to the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Mortgage or Educational Building Fund of St. John's A.M.E. Church. Metropolitan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
