Ruby Creech Cotton, 70, of Portsmouth and formerly of Lakewood Plaza Apts. in Norfolk, died Jan. 12, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mrs. Cotton was a native of Garner, N.C., and was the widow of Earl Wilmer Cotton.
Survivors include a daughter, Betsy C. Newbern of Portsmouth; five sisters; two brothers; two grandchildren, William S. Newbern Jr. and Teresa N. Thomas; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie V. Cotton.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Alan G. Moor. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
