A man on a bicycle was killed and another riding on the handlebars was injured when they were struck from behind by a hit-and-run driver at about 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 6900 block of Sewells Point Road.
Police spokesman Larry Hill said the bicycle was hit by a white pickup with a camper shell. The truck was last seen southbound on Sewells Point Road.
Both men were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The 47-year-old pedaling the bike died. The other rider, 37 years old, was in stable condition Friday night.
