Police arrested a suspect Friday night in the Jan. 5 stabbing death of a 36-year-old city resident.
Matthew L. McVey, 20, of the 11100 block of Jefferson Ave., was taken into custody at police headquarters at 6 p.m., police spokeswoman Patricia L. Mahaffy said.
The body of Joseph R. Jordan Jr. was found alongside railroad tracks by a Fort Eustis soldier who was on his way to work at about 6 a.m. Jan.5. Police believe Jordan died about four hours earlier.
