Vernon L. Brown, 63, of the 1600 block of N. Main St., died Jan. 10, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Brown was a native of Nansemond County, a machinist for Micro-Tech Co., a member and deacon of Zion Baptist Church, Waterbury, Conn., and the son of the late Marcellus Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth White Brown; a son, Vernon Brown Jr. of Waterbury, Conn.; his mother, Mary Morris Brown, and two sisters, Lucy Watson and Bertha Gibson, all of Portsmouth, Va.; brothers James Brown of Waterbury, Conn., and Lenton Roshell Brown of Suffolk, Va.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Balm of Gilead Baptist Church, Suffolk, by the Rev. Ronald Goodwin. Burial will be in Balm of Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be in the church at 11:30 a.m. Monday. The family is at the home of Mrs. Bertha Gibson, 1212 Nero Drive, Portsmouth. Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
