John ``Big John'' Griffin, 66, of the 1400 block of Whittamore Road, died Jan. 11, 1995.
Mr. Griffin was born in South Mills, N.C. He retired from Royster Fertilizer Co.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice E. Griffin; seven daughters, Luchana Jones and Hermione Everett of Chesapeake, Phyllis Stewart, Clara Jackson and Deborah Scoggins, all of Norfolk, Tracy McNair of San Diego, Calif., and Terrie Edmond of Lemon Grove, Calif.; five sons, Raymond Stewart, Johnnie Stewart, Johnnie McNair and Donald McNair, all of Norfolk, and Bernard Griffin of Horsehead, N.Y.; two sisters, Catherine Rodgers and Esther Sivels, both of Chesapeake; three brothers, Apostle Paul Griffin of Chesapeake, Apostle Miles Griffin of Norfolk and Marion Griffin of South Mills, N.C.; 25 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at United House of Prayer For All People, Chesapeake, by Apostle R. Price. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
