LENA A. JOE

Lena Alvara Joe, 73, of the 700 block of Easy St., died Jan. 12, 1995 in Norfolk.

Mrs. Joe was born in Winton, N.C. She was a retired domestic after 50 years, a member of Norfolk United Methodist Church, Norfolk, Va., Woman Society, and was a Communion Steward.

Survivors include her husband, James Russell Joe, Sr.; two daughters, Olivia Cadore of Queens, N.Y., and Nita Seberry of Chesapeake; three sons, Walter H. Williams, James R. Joe, Jr. and Clarence E. Joe, all of Norfolk; eight grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Norfolk United Methodist Church by the Rev. Finely O. Jones. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.. A wake service will be held on Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. The body will be placed in the church on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
