A six-year police veteran was arrested late Friday and charged with assaulting his wife, authorities said.
Larry D. Hackney, a 28-year-old officer who patrolled the Fourth Precinct, resigned from the Police Department shortly after his arrest, police spokesman Lou Thurston said.
Hackney has been charged with two counts of domestic assault and two counts of abduction.
Thurston said the alleged domestic assaults happened on unspecified days last year. The charges allege that Hackney assaulted his wife, Jennifer, twice during that time. Thurston said he could provide no further details. Sgt. T.A. Baum is investigating, Thurston said.
