A man was shot in the face Saturday and was taken into emergency surgery where he died, police said.
The shooting happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. at a residence in the 800 block of St. Paul's Blvd., police said.
The 28-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was visiting his girlfriend's home when he was shot through an eye, police said. He was taken to surgery at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He died at 7:30 p.m.
Police are withholding the victim's name until relatives are notified.
No motive was released and no suspects were in custody as of late Saturday.
