Police identified the bicyclist killed Friday in a hit-and-run accident as Raymond Atkins, 47, of the 900 block of Avenue J.
A passenger riding on the bicycle's handlebars was injured in the accident that happened about 9:30p.m. in the 6900 block of Sewells Point Road. He was identified as Elvis Miles, 37, of the 7100 block of Sewells Point Road. Miles is in stable condition at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, police said.
Police spokesman Larry Hill said the suspect vehicle has been located, but he gave no further details. No arrests have been made, Hill said. The investigation is continuing.
