EXECUTIVE TRACK

ACCOUNTING

McPhillips, Lieland & Deans, certified public accountants in Norfolk, admitted Walter J. Roe, Kevin E. Riggins, and Charles T. Brown as members of the firm.

Roe joined the accounting office in 1988 and is in charge of quality control. Riggins and Brown have been with the firm since 1990. Riggins specializes in taxation, and Brown manages the Virginia Beach office.

CHAMBER

James F. Babcock and Gregory N. Stillman received the chairman's award from the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.

Babcock was honored for his three years of leadership devoted to Plan 2007, a plan based on cooperative efforts of business, education and community organizations to diversify the region's economy. He is chairman of the board and chief executive officer with First Virginia Bank of Tidewater.

Stillman, a managing partner of the Norfolk law firm of Hunton & Williams, was recognized for his efforts in the chamber's education initiative and the formation of the Hampton Roads Education Leadership Academy, a program developed by the chamber to help area educators in the management of their schools.

LAW

Richard S. Yarow has joined George Holton Yates as an associate in the law office in Virginia Beach. His area of concentration will be in the areas of civil and criminal litigation. Yarow was with the Macon, Ga. law firm of Paul L. Cames.

ORGANIZATIONS

Ray A. Conner Commissioner of the Revenue for the City of Chesapeake, was elected first vice president of the Virginia Commissioners of the Revenue Association for 1995.

Metro MLS Inc. elected George L. Ayers president for 1995. Ayers is president of Realty Consultants in Virginia Beach.

The Hampton Roads Health Coalition elected Robert N. Taylor president for 1995. Taylor is president of Taylor Do-It-Centers.

Mark Cox was elected president of the Hampton Roads Virginia chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Cox is director of public affairs with the city of Chesapeake.

REAL ESTATE

Jane Ferrara was promoted from a vice president to a senior vice president with Goodman Segar Hogan Hoffler. Ferrara, a licensed broker, has been with the commercial real estate company since 1993. She manages the firm's Peninsula operations in Newport News.

Pembroke Commercial Realty in Virginia Beach promoted Debra Guerrero from property manager to director of commercial property management. Guerrero has been with the real estate company since 1984.

STOCK BROKERAGE
