Virginius Nelson Powers, 90, of Norfolk, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 1995, in a Norfolk health care center.
He was born in Richmond, Va., and was a retired electrician in the Public Works Department at the Norfolk Naval Base. Mr. Powers was a member of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church and of the Woodland Heights Masonic Lodge in Richmond.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Mildred Bennett Collie Powers; a daughter, Jacqueline Powers Cook of Virginia Beach; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Rosewood Memorial Park by the Rev. Morris A. Bennett. The family will be at 944 Josephine Crescent in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Miles Memorial United Methodist Church, 9450 Granby St., Norfolk Va. 23503. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
