Walter Byron Nunamaker, 79, of the 600 block of Broad St., died Jan. 16, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Nunamaker, a native of Etna Mills, Calif., was the widower of Ruby E. Nunamaker. He was retired as an electrician from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Pearl Harbor survivor.
Survivors include two daughters, Julia W. Smith of Chesapeake and Leslie I. Sawyer of Portsmouth; a son, J.L. Nunamaker of Portsmouth; a sister, Margaret Nunamaker, and a brother, James Nunamaker, both of California; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Nunamaker.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Evergreen Memorial Park by Mr. James Brooks. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
