Jeremiah ``Uncle Doc'' Sumner, 71, of the 3300 block of Kimball Terrace, died Jan. 15, 1995, in his home after a long illness.
Mr. Sumner was born in Princess Anne County and was a farmer.
Survivors include his very devoted and dedicated niece, Celestine Sumner; five sisters-in-law; four sisters, Novella Sumner of Norfolk, Lillie Sumner of Virginia Beach, Dorothy Sumner of Norfolk, and Vivian Bly of Philadelphia; five brothers, James Sumner, Henry Sumner and Andrew Sumner of Norfolk, Herbert Sumner of Philadelphia, and Lloyd Sumner of Virginia Beach; and one uncle, Daniel Bishop of Jacksonville, Fla.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 21, 1995, by Bishop Moore at 953 North Newtown Road, Old St. John. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Cemetery. Hale Funeral Home in charge.
