An Elizabeth City-based Coast Guard helicopter rescued two Aydlett men from Currituck Sound after their boat capsized Tuesday.
John Douglas, 50, and his 29-year-old son Jeff radioed the Coast Guard about noon after their boat began taking on water near the Wright Memorial Bridge, Coast Guard officials said.
The men were found sitting on the capsized hull with their life jackets on and were safely hoisted from the boat, officials said.
