International Family Entertainment Inc. said Tuesday that its Family Channel subsidiary and Hallmark Entertainment signed a deal to co-produce six new movies that will premiere on the Family Channel. The deal allows the cable network to run 38 other Hallmark films produced previously for other networks. Hallmark is the leading producer of original movies and miniseries for major broadcast networks. Virginia Beach-based IFE said its agreement with Hallmark is part of a stepped-up effort toward original programming on Family Channel. The films will run over the next two years. Also on Tuesday, IFE said Family Channel won three 1995 CableACE awards, given to best original shows for cable TV. The awards were for the network's animated programs ``Madeline,'' best series for children, age 6 and younger; ``The Tailor of Gloucester,'' best children's special in the same age group; and ``The Tale of Tom Kitten and Jemima Puddle-Duck,'' best animated special or series. by CNB
