The board of directors of The Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater was distressed to learn of the violence which took place at two abortion clinics in Massachusetts and at Hillcrest Clinic in Norfolk. Our prayers and thoughts are with the victims and their families.
We support the right of private citizens to legally and peaceably assemble in order to exercise their First Amendment right to express their opinions on issues of public import, including the pro-life issue. It is, however, our firm conviction that violence has no place in the abortion debate, which is a national tragedy. All life, before and after birth, is sacred in God's sight and should be respected by mankind.
The CPC is a nonprofit, community-oriented organization run by a staff and volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of women who are experiencing a crisis due to an unplanned pregnancy.
We also promote abstinence and offer a program that teaches practical-living skills and a support group for post-aborted women.
We have offices in Suffolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach. We are financially supported by local churches and generous individuals. It is our hope that the community we serve will recognize the beauty and sanctity of all human life.
