John ``Willie'' Wyche of 10443 Fortsville Road departed this life Monday, Jan. 16, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
A native of Southampton County, he was the son of the late Willis and Bessie Grant Wyche. He was the widower of the late Nonie Mae Wyche and he was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Capron.
Survivors include five daughters, Paulette Harrison, Shirley Battle, Betty Jean Wyche, and Josephine Claude, all of Capron, and Katie Luray Wyche of Exmore, Va.; two sons, Gene Berkley Wyche of Emporia and Donnie Wyche of Franklin, Va.; two daughters-in-law, Catherine Wyche and Alberta Wyche; two sons-in-law, William Harrison and Sylvester Claude; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, Drewryville, with the Rev. Lewis Collins III officiating. Interment to follow in the Pleasant Plain Church Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Pearson-Bond Funeral Service, Emporia, Va.
