ETHEL B. HUNT

Ethel ``Catherine'' Bates Hunt, 60, of the 4000 block of Holly Cove Drive, died Jan. 16, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mrs. Hunt was born in Boykins, Va., and was a member of Zion Bethel U.C.C., Portsmouth. She was predeceased by her father, John C. Bates.

Survivors include husband, Edward W. Hunt Sr.; four daughters, Evora Brenda Hunt, V. Denise Pugh, Millicent H. Harding, and Duana Hunt-Branch; three sons, Edward W. Hunt Jr., Marvin Donovan Hunt, and Dion G. Hunt I; mother, Francis J. Grant; one sister, Georgia G. Barnes; four brothers, Herman Grant Jr., Timothy R. Grant, Glenn E. Grant and Curtis Grant; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Helen C. Hunt; three sons-in-law, Preston C. Harding Sr., Gregory D. Branch, and William Pugh; one god-daughter, Beverly Stephenson; one god-son, attorney LaRonnie Mason, two ``special nephews'' Amos H. Rawls Jr. and Ronnie L. Rawls, all of the Tidewater area.

The funeral will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 21, 1995, at noon by the Rev. D.A. Peace Sr. in Zion Bethel United Church of Christ, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Serenity Funeral Home, Portsmouth, and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 4185 Holly Cove Drive in Chesapeake at 11:15 a.m. Saturday for the processional to the church. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
