Raleigh Roosevelt Castelloe, 89, of Route 3, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 1995.
He was a former resident of Windsor, N.C., a native of Bertie County, a member of Greens Cross Baptist Church and served as an active deacon for 50 years. Mr. Castelloe had retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation after 26 years and nine months.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Pearce Castelloe; daughters, Caroline C. Rouse of La Grange and Elizabeth C. Hodges of Belhaven; a son, Raleigh R. Castelloe Jr. of Troy; a sister, Lillie I. Castelloe of Edenton; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Greens Cross Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 308 U.S. 17 North, Windsor. Memorial gifts may be made to Greens Cross Baptist Church or to the Bertie County Rescue Squad. Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, is in charge of arrangements.
