WARREN I. EARLY JR.

Warren Isaac Early Jr., 62, of the 5500 block of N. Greenfield Drive, a retired lieutenant colonel, died Jan. 18, 1995, at the U.S. Naval Hospital.

Mr. Early was a native of Portsmouth, Ohio, retired from the U.S. Air Force after 42 years and senior supervisor of office personnel management at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, board member of the STOP organization, member of America Fellowship Masonic Lodge (NU)148, Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Temple and life member of Moose Lodge (NU)898. He earned his master's degree in business administration from George Washington University and B.S. degree from Madison College and was a graduate of Harrisonburg High School. He was a Korean veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Early; a daughter, JoAnna Early Simons, and son-in-law Joseph Craig Simons of Portsmouth; two sons, Michael Dail Early of San Francisco, Calif., Dr. Richard Kenneth Early and wife Kay Griffin Early of Linville, Va.; his mother, Georgie Carrier Early Armentrout of Harrisonburg, Va.; a stepsister, Dolly Huffman of Broadway, Va.; a stepbrother, Alvin ``Sonny'' Armentrout of Lacy Springs, Va.; and six grandchildren, Erik Simons, Anna May, Jacob, Rachel, Rebekah and Josiah Early.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, 1995, in Aldersgate United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Cofield and Rev. Linwood Daniel at 2:00 P.M. The body will be taken to The Lindsey Funeral Home, Harrisonburg, Va., for another funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the Zion Mennonite Church, Broadway, Va. Burial will full military honors will be in the Early Cemetery, Harrisonburg.

A Masonic service will be held Friday at 7 P.M. in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, with visitation to follow.
