David Ellsworth Harrell, Sr., 78, of Virginia Beach, died January 18, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Harrell was a native of Suffolk, Virginia. He was the widower of Margaret W. Harrell, and Vivian B. Harrell. He was a member and a Deacon of Beacon Baptist Church in Virginia Beach. He was also Chairman of the Deacons, Assistant Treasurer, and President of the Sunday School at Beacon Baptist Church.
Mr. Harrell was retired, a life time member, and Past President of the London Bridge Volunteer Fire Department. He was retired from the Jewel Tea Company.
Survivors include 3 sons, Ralph A. Harrell of Virginia Beach, Thomas O. Harrell of Virginia Beach, and David E. Harrell, Jr. of Cleveland, Tennessee; 4 stepdaughters, Roslyn Russell of Virginia Beach, Margaret E. Penecost of Willis, Virginia, Jackie McGraw of St. David, Arizona, Joyce Willson of Virginia Beach; 1 sister, Lydia H. Rose of Carrsville, Virginia; one grandson, Thomas O. Harrell, Jr. of Virginia Beach, one granddaughter, Catherine Margaret Harrell of Virginia Beach, and several other step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
A Chapel service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 1995, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by Reverend Glenwood H. Stevens. Burial will be at Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
There will be a visitation in the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
