NORFOLK COUNCIL ACTIONS

These are the actions from the Norfolk City Council meeting Tuesday. All members were present. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were unanimous.

PUBLIC HEARINGS

Regarding action of Council on Dec. 27, 1994, toward the application of Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority to amend zoning ordinance of the City of Norfolk, 1992, to create a new classification titled Bayfront Residential Siting Overlay District. Approved, 6-0-1.

Regarding action of Council on Dec. 27, 1994, on the application of Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority to apply Bayfront Residential Siting Overlay District to certain properties in East Ocean View area fronting 3rd Bay Street, Bay Oaks Place and East Ocean View Avenue. Approved, 6-0-1.

CONSENT AGENDA

In accordance with Chapter 33.1-41 of the Norfolk City Code, of emergency procurement of fire-resistant mattresses for the jail. Approved, 6-0-1.

REGULAR AGENDA

An ordinance to amend and reordain section 47-3(e) of the Norfolk City Code, 1979, relating to handgun permits to provide for the collection of an FBI processing fee. Approved, 6-0-1.

An ordinance to amend and reordain section 47-1 of the City Code, 1979, relating to carrying concealed weapons to conform to 1994 state amendments. Approved, 6-0-1.

An ordinance to amend and reordain section 25-168 of the Norfolk City Code, 1979, concerning funeral processions. Approved.

An ordinance to repeal subsection (d) of section 25-177 of the Norfolk City Code, 1979, concerning penalty for the illegal operation of motorcycles. Approved.

An ordinance to amend and reordain subsection (7) of section 25-282 of the Norfolk City Code, 1979, regarding parking zones for persons with disabilities. Approved.

An ordinance to amend and reordain section 25-287 of the City Code, 1979, concerning unauthorized use of parking reserved for persons with disabilities. Approved.

An ordinance to amend and reordain section 25-657 of the Norfolk City Code, 1979, by amending subsection (1) and (3) and repealing subsection (6) relating to vehicles of over 5 tons prohibited on certain streets. Approved.

An ordinance repealing section 25-658 of the Norfolk City Code, 1979, relating to exceptions of vehicles of over 5 tons prohibited on certain streets. Approved.
