Charles Edward Whittemore Sr., 83, of Route 3, South Hill, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 18, 1995, in South Hill.
Mr. Whittemore was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and a well known farmer in the Union Level area.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Carter Whittemore of the home; three sons, Charles Edward Jr. of Boykins, Va., Joseph Raymond of Lawrenceville, Va., and George Randolph of Chesterfield, Va.; one sister, Mae Whittemore Carter of Baskerville. Also surviving are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 1995, at Farrar Funeral Chapel with interment in the Crestview Memorial Park. The family received friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home. The family requests that memorial considerations be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church, Route 2, Box 254, South Hill, Va., or Southside Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 546, South Hill, Va. 23970.
