RAYMOND L. ACKISS

Raymond Lee Ackiss of the 900 block of Avenue J, died Jan. 13, 1995, in Norfolk.

Mr. Ackiss was born in Norfolk and was self-employed in yard work. He was formerly a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Norfolk.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ackiss of Suffolk; two stepdaughters, Ruth Tabb and Candace Tabb of Suffolk; three sons, Raymond Lee Ackiss, Aaron Ackiss and Reuben Chaney of Suffolk; his father, Henry A. Ackiss of Norfolk; a sister, Gwendolyn Crawford of San Diego, Calif.; four half-sisters, Sonia Hill, Brenda Evans, Vera Evans and Trudy Evans, all of Norfolk; a half-brother, Henry Evans of Chesapeake; mother-in-law, Mary Ricks; aunts, Rosa Boyce, Lydia McGlone, Annie Johnson; and an uncle, Butler Mason, all of Norfolk; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Gospel Light Church of Christ (Holiness) USA, Norfolk. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chesapeake. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is in charge.
