JOHN A. DENNARD

John A. Dennard, of the 1900 block of Richmond Ave., died Jan. 18, 1995, in Maryview Medical Center.

He was a native of San Diego, Calif., and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He had been stationed at NAVMASSO Naval Base, and was an ODU graduate in Criminal Justice.

Survivors include his parents, Frances and James Dennard; two sisters, Susanne Dennard and JoAnna Duzart, both of Portsmouth; three brothers, James H. Dennard of Portsmouth, Thomas A. Dennard of Chester County, and Stephen Dennard of Washington, D.C.; and two sisters-in-law, three nieces, and two nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Serenity Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dwight Steele. Burial will be in Olive Branch Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at 1715 Charleston Ave., Portsmouth, at 2:15 p.m. Saturday for the processional to the chapel. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
