Raymond Edward Turner, 56, of the 1100 block of Tyler Ave., a retired surveyor, died Jan. 18, 1995, in Riverside Convalescent Center after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Nansemond County, son of the late Grace Nurney Turner and Vernon L. Turner. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy R. Roberts of Virginia Beach and Diane R. Stoekl of Suffolk; two sisters, Thelma Hawley of Gloucester and Mary Stanley of Virginia Beach; three brothers, Vernon Turner of Suffolk, Donald Turner and Wayne Turner, both of Newport News; and one granddaughter, Danielle Stoekl.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Whiteheads Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Isle of Wight County, by the Rev. Russell O. Leonard. The family will receive friends at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at 552 Kings Fork Road, Suffolk.
