Eleva Ardelle Grimes of the 300 block of N. Birdneck Road, died Jan. 17, 1995.
She was born in Boydton, Va., and was the widow of Horace E. Grimes Sr. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, the Senior Usher Board and Pastor's Aid Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Edythe G. Woodhouse, and a son, Horace E. Grimes Jr., both of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Mozelle Wood of Chase City, Va., Helen Evans of Boydton and Mildred Wood of Jersey City, N.J.; three brothers, Roy Carter Jr. and Charles Carter, both of Boydton, and Gilbert Carter of Tallahassee, Fla.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. E. Ray Cox. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The remains will be in the church at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel, is in charge.
