WILLIAM H. TAYLOR

William Herbert Taylor, 67, of the 2900 block of Princess Anne Cres., died Jan. 18, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.

A native of Portsmouth, he was a retired civil service supervisor for LANTDIV and was recently employed as a quality control supervisor for Pizzagalli Construction Co. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge (NU)898, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn A. Taylor; a daughter, Mary Ellen Cooper of Taylors, S.C.; three sons, William Z. Taylor and Walter Carroll Ashley III, both of Chesapeake, and R. Glenn Ashley of Simpsonville, S.C.; a sister, Frances T. Morrell of Chesapeake; a sister-in-law, Jean T. Hamaker of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Alexandra Ashley, Adrianne Ashley, Gary W. Cooper Jr. and Ashley Cooper; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Robert F. Cofield Jr. and the Rev. Scott M. Rimer. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
