Genevieve Gabbert Garrett, 79, of the 2300 block of E. Bugle Drive, died Jan. 18, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
A native of Clarksburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Albert Gabbert and Victoria Gray Gabbert. She was retired as a personnel clerk from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and previously had worked for the late Dr. Rufus Kight in Norfolk.
Survivors include her husband, John T. Garrett; a son and daughter-in-law, John T. Garrett II and Gerry Garrett of Chesapeake; and two grandchildren, Greg and Mark Garrett.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Meadowbrook Mausoleum Chapel, by the Rev. Steve Bingham. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at 4641 Leeward Drive, Chesapeake.
