Janie V. Wilson, 88, of the 100 block of Howard St., died Jan. 19 in a Norfolk nursing home.
She was a native of Anderson, S.C., and was a member of Third Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jessie Wilson.
Survivors include an adopted son and great-nephew, Leon Hammonds of Portsmouth; an adopted grandson, Steven Hammonds of Portsmouth; a niece, Varena Davis of Norfolk; and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday in Fisher Funeral Home by the Rev. Andrew Chapman. The body was donated to science.
