Audrey Jean Edwards Allgood, 65, of 300 South Woodberry Ave., died in the Danville Regional Medical Center Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. on Jan. 19, 1995. She had been in declining health for several months.
She was born in Suffolk, Va., on Aug. 7, 1929, a daughter of the late Ruben Edwards and Inez Littrell Edwards. She had lived most of her adult life in Danville, where she taught in the Danville Public School System, teaching at the old Robert E. Lee school. She later worked for Thalhimers Department Store. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Suffolk and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the wife of Joseph Edwards ``Eddie'' Allgood, who died on Dec. 24, 1991.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Allgood Graves of Summerfield, N.C., and Tracey Allgood Toler of Dry Fork; one sister, Judith Ann Vail of Suffolk; a brother, Rueben Allen Edwards of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Rachel Marie Toler and John Bennett Toler II and Rebecca Marie Graves and William Joseph Graves.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in the Swicegood Funeral Chapel by the Rev. R.J. Barber Jr. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.
