W. HOWARD WILLIAMS JR.

W. Howard Williams Jr., 59, of the 200 block of Woodland Circle, died Jan. 20, 1995.

A native of Perquimans County, he was the son of the late W. Howard Williams Sr. and Odessa Winslow Williams. He was a fields associate with Southern States and the former owner/operator of Hertford Farmers Exchange. He was a member of Hertford United Methodist Church, former chairman of Perquimans County Democratic Party, former president of Perquimans County Youth League and former member of Perquimans County Jaycees. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Banks Williams; a son and daughter-in-law, W. Howard Williams III and Vicki Williams of Hertford; a sister, Jeanette Weidner of Naperville, Ill.; two brothers, Melville Williams of Camden and Steve Williams of Hertford; and two grandchildren, Will Williams and Lauren Williams of Hertford. He was predeceased by a son, Scott Williams.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Cedar Wood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scott Williams Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Centura Bank in Hertford. This scholarship is given annually to a graduating senior of Perquimans County High School. Swindell Funeral Home is in charge.
