A man has been indicted on a capital murder charge in the robbery and fatal shooting of a 23-year-old Virginia Beach resident April 19.
Police have taken out warrants for Armar-Rashad Nelson, 19, who they say should be considered armed and dangerous. In addition to the murder charge, Nelson is wanted on armed robbery, abduction and three weapons charges.
Nelson was described as being 6 feet, 3 inches tall and 170 pounds. He is known to wear a goatee and mustache.
His last known address was in the 800 block of Mount Vernon Ave. He frequented the Ida Barbour and Lincoln Park housing areas of Portsmouth.
The victim, Christopher R. Malachi, was found in the rear of 9 Lexington Drive with his pants and shoes removed and with multiple wounds on his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
