Twelve hundred residents of flood-ravaged California received relief supplies early this week from Operation Blessing, a Virginia Beach-based non-profit humanitarian organization.
An 18-wheel truck loaded with water, canned food, blankets and cleaning supplies was sent Monday to Sebastopol, Calif., northwest of San Francisco. Two more truckloads were sent Thursday and will be distributed by churches.
Operation Blessing's Hunger Strike Force has a fleet of 17 trucks. It has delivered more than 26 million pounds of food and materials, valued at $12 million, to more than 19 million people since its inception in 1992.
