A 19-year-old Norfolk State University student, who was attempting to unload his roommate's handgun, accidentally shot himself in the head early Thursday morning, police reported Friday.
Lumumba K. Lighter, of the 9100 block of Pinedale St., was shot once in the forehead, investigators said. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
