SALLY BROWN MCCOLLUM

Sally Brown Gurganus McCollum, 91, of the 9000 block of Granby St., Pamlico, died Jan. 16, 1995, in her residence.

Known as Sally to all, she was born in Williamston, N.C., and lived a third of her life there before migrating to Norfolk. She was the beloved widow of John A. McCollum.

She was active most of her life in business and civic matters and was a woman of quiet strength and endurance, with deep religious convictions.

A compassionate Christian, she was member of Talbot Park Baptist Church and endeared herself to many. Her motto was live and let live. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Green of Miami; three grandchildren, Susan Basnight of Norfolk, Danny Lynn O'Hern of Maryland, John Green of Connecticut; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, most of whom shared her life up to the last.

Mrs. McCollum's cremains will be buried in Forest Lawn with a private memorial service at later date.
