Robert A. Meikle, 78, of the 1300 block of Tallwood St., died Jan. 21, 1995, in Norfolk.
Mr. Meikle was born in Missouri. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years and from N.A.S. Norfolk. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Branch 60, was a Navy veteran of World War II and received a distinguished Medal of Honor for bravery above and beyond the call of duty.
Survivors include his wife, Anna M. Meikle; two sisters, Marie Shanks of Britton, S.D., and Jean Hughes of Bloomington, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m Tuesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family will be at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
