MINNA K. SCHENK

Minna Adelston Kirstein Schenk, 93, formerly of Norfolk, died Jan. 19, 1995, after a short illness, at the Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg.

Mrs. Schenk had resided in Lynchburg for the past year. She was born Nov. 23, 1901, in Norfolk, daughter of Samuel Berle and Annie Glasser Adelston. Mrs. Schenk was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore Schenk, her daughter, Fredda Kirstein Evans of Norfolk and five sisters, Dena A. Barr, Helen A. Synder, Sadie A. Leitman, Lillie A. Falls and Ida A. Eluto.

She is survived by her sister, Bessie Adelston of Norfolk; and her son, Leroy P. Kirstein of Lynchburg and his wife, Agnes Kirstein. In addition , Mrs. Schenk's legacy includes four grandchildren, Barry Evans of Tucson, Ariz., Erica Evans Vencill of Charlottesville, Sidney H. Kirstein of Lynchburg and Dean A. Kirstein of Blacksburg; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Schenk will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Her graveside service will be conducted by Rabbi Samuel Sobel in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, at 11 a.m. today. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
