EXECUTIVE TRACK

ACCOUNTING

Robert L. Whiddon was named a partner with the accounting firm of Edmondson, LedBetter & Ballard in Norfolk. Whiddon has directed the firm's tax practice since joining in 1992.

EDUCATION

Stephen S. Mansfield was appointed interim vice president of academic affairs and dean of Virginia Wesleyan College. Mansfield, who holds a doctorate degree and is a professor of history, joined the college in 1968, not long after it was established. Mansfield will serve as the chief academic officer while the officials with the liberal arts college conducts a national search to fill the position.

GOVERNMENT

Dan Evans was elected by the White House Conference on Small Business to represent Virginia on small business issues. Evans was one of 197 individuals nominated to fill the 26 seats. Evans is president of Evans Inc., an appliance parts company that has operations in Portsmouth, Norfolk, Newport News and Richmond.

MANUFACTURING

Chris Leverette was promoted from director to vice president of field operations with Hercules Fence in Norfolk. Leverette has been with the fence manufacturer since 1987.

Stacey Prather will manage the customer relations for Cavalier Bolt & Nut Inc. in Virginia Beach. Prior to joining the industrial fastener manufacturer, Prather was quality control supervisor with CASDE Manufacturing in Norfolk.

MEDIA

Russ Kostinas was named general manager of the Apartment Directory, a new product to be published monthly by Commonwealth Printing in cooperation with the The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star and the Tidewater Builders Association. The directory, scheduled to be launched this spring, will include all apartments in the south Hampton Roads area.

Kostinas has been with The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star since 1983. He most recently was sales director with Home Express, also published by Commonwealth Printing.

The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star and Commonwealth Printing Co. are subsidiaries of Landmark Communications.

International Family Entertainment Inc. in Virginia Beach promoted Harold Moore from affiliate marketing manager, and Ann L. Abraham from a writing and programming liaison with The Family Channel to public relations manager of trade press and ad sales liaison.

Moore will be responsible for developing affiliate marketing programs and materials for The Family Channel and Cable Health Club. He has been with IFE since 1990.

Abraham's public relations duties will also extend to the company's advertising sales. She joined IFE in 1991.

RETAIL

Ronald E. Johnson has resigned his position of senior executive vice president and chief operating officer with Farm Fresh Inc. in Norfolk. He has accepted the position of chairman, president and chief executive officer with Kash and Karry Stores in Tampa, Fla.

Michael E. Julian, chairman, president and chief exective officer with Farm Fresh said he and Keith E. Alessi will split Johnson's responsibilities. Alessi has served as the company's vice chairman. MEMO: Executive Track reports executive and management changes. Send
