Monitor-Merrimac Bridge Tunnel handled 10,746,300 vehicles in 1994, up 12.4 percent from 9,558,200 vehicles in 1993. About 5 million vehicles used the structure its first year. It opened in May 1992.
Newport News/Williamsburg Airport served 334,936 passengers in 1994, up 8.6 percent from 308,307 passengers in 1993.
Norfolk International Airport handled 3,422,400 passenger in 1994, up more than 30 percent from the 2,619,754 passengers in 1993.
Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel traffic totaled 2,700,142 in 1994, about even with 2,619,880 vehicles in 1993.
Virginia Beach/Norfolk expressway traffic surpassed 38.33 million vehicles in 1994 compared to 37.8 million in 1993 and more than 36.9 million in 1992.
